Kreafest is an annual children’s festival held at Gudskul Ecosystem, Jakarta. Initiated by RURUkids and Gudskul Ecosystem, this activity aims to be a forum for parents, children, teachers, artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, and child observers to meet, share knowledge, appreciate each other’s work, and also play together in the realm of arts and culture. This inaugural festival will take place from 7-14 March 2020 with a series of events in the form of exhibitions, art workshops for parents and children, musical performances, children’s film screenings, discussions, and a bazaar of products for children from local businesses.
In the first year, Kreafest carried themes related to the Environment, Economy and Technology. These three things are the basic foundation for RURUkids in instilling awareness in children from an early age and building attitudes towards leading a quality life, and being able to pay attention to themselves and their universe. Apart from that, be wise in facing the rapid flow of technology, utilize technology for self-development, and begin to understand the basic principles of economics and learn to apply them. Of course the three things above are interrelated with each other.
“Celebrate the Future Starting Today”
Today’s children are a generation that is growing up with different technological, environmental and economic challenges than previous generations. Currently, amidst worries and facing various challenges, we would like to invite parents and children to “slow down” the daily rhythm for a moment, by observing existing objects and nature, and creatively processing them in the realms of technology, economics and the environment. For this reason, let’s be grateful for what is around us, because the knowledge we gain today is preparation for facing the future.
